Senior engineer Liz Rickard has over 25 years’ experience as a practising structural engineer. For over 15 years she has worked with top international experts and major suppliers studying the dynamic engineering principles utilised in many height safety products and the interaction with the building structure.
In 2018 she received the British Safety Industry Federation award for outstanding contribution to the safety industry for her work on formalising competency and raising standards in her specialist sector.
In 2024 her specialist expertise, and sector leadership where recognised by being awarded Fellowship of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Through her career, Liz has been active in promoting a positive image of the construction sector and skills retention. She guided a specialist contractor through the process of piloting the BEFair framework for CITB and worked on a BSI committee for the first code of practice for diversity and inclusion within the workplace, which included guidance on technology and remote working.
Liz has had the privilege of Judging for the WICE and NEC 100 awards. She also has experience representing various organisations in the media, and public speaking.
