Extract from the Working at Height Regulations 2005

What is Work at Height?

Work at Height is defended as any work above ground level or at ground level where a fall can occur. Anyone making a product decision acts as a “designer” in legal terms and should seek competent advice. Fall Protection applications can place significant loads on structures. It is therefore imperative in terms of both the safety of the user and public safety that the structure and fixings are verified for the loads.

BS7883 – A significant change

BS7883 presents a major change professionalising the expectations within the  Fall Protection sector. It places stricter stipulations on designers of personal fall protection equipment to ensure they obtain competent advice, whilst the manufacturers testing requirements under BS(EN)795:2012 cover the performance of the product the affixation to the structure is the responsibility of the installer and building owner.

Springrise Structural can help you ensure you meet the requirements of the regulations
